Trinity Bikes Strava Club

August 05, 2026

Back to COBC

Some cycling clubs are built around a weekly ride.

Others are built around a shared passion for riding itself.

The Trinity Bikes Strava Club is a little of both.

Sponsored by Trinity Bikes in Redmond, the club brings together more than 140 cyclists who enjoy tracking their rides, comparing weekly accomplishments, and encouraging one another through Strava's online community. While many members live in Redmond, Bend, and the surrounding Central Oregon communities, the leaderboard has grown to include riders from across the United States—and even a handful from Europe. No matter where they live, members share a common interest in getting outside and riding their bikes.

Unlike a traditional cycling club with scheduled road rides every week, the Trinity Bikes Strava Club is centered on the online experience. Every ride recorded on Strava contributes to the weekly leaderboard, where members can compare miles ridden, longest ride, elevation climbed, and other accomplishments. For many riders, it's a fun source of motivation. A quick glance at the leaderboard can be just the encouragement needed to head out for one more ride before the week ends.

That doesn't mean the community exists only online.

During the riding season, Trinity Bikes organizes an informal Thursday evening mountain bike social ride. Riders meet at local trailheads for a relaxed evening on some of Central Oregon's outstanding singletrack. These rides are intended to be welcoming and social rather than highly competitive, giving riders a chance to meet new friends, explore different trails, and enjoy the area's exceptional mountain biking.

The combination of an active local bike shop, regular mountain bike rides, and an online Strava community creates a different kind of cycling club. Some members may never attend a group ride but enjoy following the weekly leaderboard. Others ride together nearly every week while also tracking their progress online. Both groups become part of the same community.

One of the enjoyable surprises is the diversity of the membership. While Central Oregon riders make up the heart of the club, the leaderboard often includes cyclists from places as varied as Florida, Hawaii, California, and Europe. Every week brings a new mix of names, distances, climbing totals, and personal achievements. Whether someone is riding the Cascade trails, quiet country roads, or mountain passes on another continent, everyone shares the same simple goal—getting out and riding.

Trinity Bikes itself has long been known as a community-oriented bicycle shop serving Redmond and the surrounding area. The Strava Club extends that sense of community beyond the walls of the shop, giving riders another way to stay connected between rides.

If you already use Strava, joining the Trinity Bikes Club is an easy way to discover local cyclists, follow weekly leaderboards, and learn about upcoming mountain bike social rides. And if you're looking for another reason to get out on your bike this week, seeing your name climb a few spots on the leaderboard might be all the motivation you need.
