The Cardiac Kids

August 11, 2026

Some cycling groups measure success in miles.

Others measure it in average speed, elevation gain, or how many riders they managed not to lose along the way.

The Cardiac Kids have another metric:

We're all still here.

The group includes an assortment of hearts, lungs, arteries, replacement parts, questionable knees, and assorted other components—all mounted on bicycles and apparently unwilling to behave their age.

Their training philosophy is refreshingly simple:

Keep moving.

The heart sets the pace.
The lungs complain about it.
The legs insist they were never consulted.

And somewhere, a cardiologist looks at a Strava activity and mutters:

"Well... I suppose that's one way to do cardiac rehab."

The Cardiac Kids have been riding together since 2022.

Coincidentally, nobody has yet volunteered to be the Dropped Rider.
